Cornwall Holiday 2006

March 2006 saw a group of Friends First residents and staff brave the elements and venture almost 300 miles from home to the Cornish coast.

Our travels led us to a converted barn in Newquay, a fantastic building, easily sleeping 10 and within easy reach of St Michaels Mount, Newquay beaches, Lands End and The Eden Project.

At Lands End

Everyone mucked in during the week, preparing sandwiches, cooking in the evening before each night settling in to watch a DVD before retiring to bed.

The week sped by at an alarming rate, everyone had such a good time that the consensus was that we didn’t want to leave!

One person commented, prior to the journey home, “That was the best holiday I have ever had” , hear hear!

“It was great; the journey was long but worth it. We went to the Eden Project, there were hot areas and cold areas, as well as lots of plants and butterflies. A monkey climbed on me, but jumped off before some could take a photograph! We saw lots of animals at Newquay Zoo, even a gorilla…or was that a member of staff!? We went to St Michael’s Mount and Lands End; I brought my Mum a present. It made a nice change to be out of Brighton, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.”
