Jesus, Marriage & Divorce 1 Corinthians 7:3-5, 10-24, 39-40
The apostle Paul is still addressing the same problems that the Corinthians had with sex and marriage being “unspiritual”, and believing perhaps that they should leave their marriages in order to be spiritual. But Paul embraces marriage and lifts it up the same way as Jesus. Paul shows that this is teaching from Jesus (v.10 [...]
How can a loving God allow natural disasters like Haiti to happen?

In the Community

As a church we are committed to serving the community around us. Our call is to show kindness, to support the disadvantaged, to demonstrate the love of God in generous serving and unconditional mercy.

This isn't an add-on to church life; it's integral! That's why our home groups meet in a variety of locations around the city. That's why our youth and children's meetings are open to all (it also explains why we provide free bus services to encourage chhildren to come to the Kidz Klub and adults to come to Sunday meetings). That's why so much effort and finance is poured into our programme under the Urban Impact banner.

For several years, we have established a Family Festival, at first in Carden Park, then at Greenleas Park in Hangleton and latterly in Poet's Corner with entertainment for all the family: bouncy castles and sideshows, craft, face-painting, music, speciality acts such as Tough Talk, free food and lots more.

This also gave opportunity for church members to make a contribution to their local communities with such projects as garden maintenance, painting or building work, rubbish clearance, teaparties for the elderly and so on.  All of these activities were linked to Urban Impact Projects.
